They say that the concentration span of children is their age +1 minutes i.e. concentration span of a 4 years old child is 5 minutes. I was amazed to see my 3.5 to 4.5 year olds concentrating for almost 50 minutes. I WAS SUPER SURPRISED! The topic of discussion was our 3rd line of inquiry " Responsibility towards living things". The little ones had soooo much to say ... we should save the earth; we should bring the hungry people home and feed them; we should make skin for the one's whose limbs are lost; we should offer food and water to animals; we should water plants daily; we should help and care. I had to ask for my turn to speak up. The discussion ended with a decision to create a " responsibility box" and collect some money to help needy children. The movement was a hit as children went home and talked about it and returned with money the next day. The ones' who forgot were inspired by the others and made their contribution on the following day. Our beautiful, grounded and warm principal Ms. Meenu Huria was also approached by the children to make a contribution. Take a look......
